They(CCP) so much have the cart before the horse.
THe key to increased revenue is proper marketing and devepoling a good product that will help the marketing plan.
THe constant chase for new content means the consumer is confiused what to buy in store.
A good example is in Australia, Coke has not succesfully been able to introduce to us the flavours of the USa.
WHy because we (australians) are a different market.
Eve players are a different group of MMO players,.
In Australia the player base is small, i say eve to someone, and the person i talk to goes, "Whats that" or " I think i heard of it"
If they want more revenue they need subscriptions. if they want subscriptions they need to work on what they have and selling that better.
The Iceland mentally is a economic killer anyway they have proven that by as a nation going to the brink of bankruptcy.
CCP are trying to open the current base players wallets more, rather than introduce a new players wallet, this places demands on the existing player.
When you make a player pay more for content you exhaust the player.
TO compare us to golfers and concert goers is the poorest of anagolgys. Niether of those can i afford not with a fmaily can i attend, EVE lets me have a hobby i enjoy at a price while being in proxmity to my family.
If they allowed me to buy ammo and shisp and slots, they would move many of the eve players that are the same as myself out of eve. In these days of economic uncertainaty , people will, close their wallet before they open it.
People say PLEX selliing is not damaging , that is also wrong.i know many people now pay by plex, the number is rising, but also what we are doing is providing the very rich with their ships with more immediately.]
I know a few in our alliance that no longer PVP as much as before as they grind missions to get enough isk to get isk to keep playing, If EVE is about PVP, i would say its more and more the rich in game or those with T2 BPOS and r64 moons can PVP. I am fortunate i am still lving of isk i made pre the new style plex(3 years ago) and some inherited (the inherited mainly went into alliance anyway)
EVE in its current state does not encourage PVP, nor other intriguing social interaction. Remember mid 2006 to thsoe players, their was a deep null sec system that was safe for all protected by its alliance as a freeport. WIth the need for bigger wallets and others in game needing to fund battles elsewhere it put pressure to artifically change the game.
There are many allainces who make you pay subscription to their forums and websites.
All it does is flood plex , makes the big allainces to be run buy RMT converted to plex, and encourages more players to the grind for non cash game time.
IF one rich player in your alliance starts commiting $1000 a month to plex because he wants his alliance to roll, how can others without benefactors compete against that
CCP are killing the amount of PVP , they encourage you to blob or grind, there are small pockets of us that have deliberalety avoided both, but at times you have to retreat for long periods when big alaince decide you are bored, at which point you are competing agaisnt this falsiefied economy
Thats my rant, CCP are failing and need to find out what they are about, before they decide where they are going.
